Stories from Previous Scout Jamborees

Visitors, Scouts, and Venturers are invited to climb one of the 24 climbing lines at the Scott Summit Center's rock climbing center. There, they will also find 12 rappel lanes and 60 bouldering spots.

"Rock Climbing ... is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day," says center operator Chuck Treadway, with some exceptions noted on the Summit Visitor Information website. Reservations or tickets are not required to rock climb, but a ticket is required for visitors to the jamboree. Visitor fees vary and are posted at the same page.

In addition to the public rock climbing at the Summit Center, participants may also climb at The Rocks, located near Low Gear and Big Zip.

"It's just pure fun," says Treadway.
