Stories from Previous Scout Jamborees

Check out JamboWatch every day for special tips as well as information about the day's flag ceremony and menus. Here's the JamboWatch for July 15, 2013.

Tip of the Day

Don't tie up your day with evening activities, so patch trade after dinner, not before.

Today's Flag Ceremony

The Order of the Arrow posted the United States flag and the flag of the Summit Bechtel Reserve at Twelve Points Plaza at 6 a.m. All Scouts, Venturers, leaders, and staff are invited to attend the daily ceremony. Each day, different flags will be featured in addition to the U.S. and Summit flags, including flags of the armed services serving the jamboree, flags from previous jamborees, and flags honoring different regions of jamboree participants.

Today's Menu

Dinner: Grilled chicken breasts with barbecue sauce, corn on the cob, smashed potatoes, cole slaw, oranges, and Rice Krispies Treats.

Tuesday's Menu

Breakfast: Corn flakes, blueberry fritter cake, apples, grape juice, granola bars, and milk.

Lunch: Beef jerky, southwest ranch cracker-chips, strawberry bar, apple-cinnamon squeeze fruit, trail mix, peanut butter Ritz Bits, and rasberry-lemonade drink mix.

Dinner: Tortilla chips, mild spiced taco beef, flour tortillas, shredded iceberg lettuce and cheddar cheese, with salsa and ranch dressing, pound cake and Mountain Blast Gatorade.

Did You Know?

If every Scout drinks the recommended one quart per hour during program activities time, enough water will be consumed to fill an Olympic swimming pool. That's 2.6 million quarts of water!
